Atlanta Athletic Club

Manufacturer: Mayer China
User: Atlanta Athletic Club
Date: 1959
Notes: The Atlanta Athletic Club was chartered as a private club in 1893 and was first located in downtown Atlanta. It is now (2011) located in Johns Creek, Ga., and according to its website is a "private athletic, golf and country club."

The golf and tennis facilities regularly host national -- and international -- events.

Renowned amateur golfer Bobby Jones was a club member, and a statue of Jones at the club pays homage to his memory.

A medium black band and an inner wide light blue band -- framed by non-metallic gold lines -- are positioned on the plate's rim. The club crest sits on the verge and is composed of a green laurel wreath, the overlapping monogram AAC and a gold ribbon.
