Coronado Hotel

Manufacturer: Syracuse China
User: Coronado Hotel
Date: April 1935
Notes: Located at 3701 Lindell Blvd., this 15-story, 700-room hotel was built c. 1926. Designed by Preston Bradshaw, the St. Louis architect not only owned the building, but lived there with his family until he died. Purchased as a dormitory for St. Louis University, the cost of maintenance was overwhelming and the building was again sold and abandoned in 1986. After being closed for many years, the property was renovated in 2003 and contains retail space, offices, and apartments primarily for students from nearby St. Louis University.

White body with a red band and blue pin lines. Topmarked with an oval medallion of a crowned, double-headed eagle wearing shields and a banner beneath the medallion that reads "Coronado."
