Sonnenberg's Restaurant

Manufacturer: Jackson China
User: Sonnenberg's Restaurant
Pattern: Unknown
Date: circa 1925 - 1930s
Notes: The butter pat and creamer were identified by the great-grandson of the owner of Sonnenberg's in Torrington, Connecticut and Librarian Carol Clapp of the Torrington Historical Society provided the following historical synopsis:
"Sonnenberg's Restaurant was located at 18 East Main Street in Torrington; it was (according to a photocopied menu we have in our archives) established in 1925 by proprietor William F. Sonnenberg. According to the city directories we have, it was in business (at the same location) until 1941.

The 1942 city directory lists a business known as "Dick and Mat Restaurant" at that address. The Sonnenbergs (William and Helen) were still living in Torrington in 1942 but no occupation is listed for William so it may be that he retired."
